Pakistan, on August 14 (Saturday), is celebrating its 75th Independence Day. The whole country, along with the celebrities and the cricketers, are wishing their followers on the auspicious occasion. Like his other cricketing friends, even Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal took to Twitter to wish his fans a very happy independence day on Saturday.

With people very much active on social media these days, not many things go missing. And the fans didn’t miss the mistake Akmal did in his tweet. The wicketkeeper-batsman posted the picture with Pakistan’s flag in it and wished his fans but he misspelt the spelling of ‘Independence’ and wrote ‘Indepence’.

Clearly, the social media gimmicks didn’t need any invitation to highlight the mistake and troll the cricketer. The replies are filled with people making a joke of his English skills while few responded to him with wishes from their side as well.

Here’s the tweet:

Kamran Akmal last played for Pakistan in 2017

Kamran Akmal has been a regular feature in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) where he is among the top run-getters of the league. He consistently scored runs over the last few years but with age not being on his side, the selectors are probably not considering him. Akmal is currently 39 years old and isn’t going to get any younger. It seems unlikely to get any more chances at the international level for Pakistan.

The elder of Akmal brothers last played for Pakistan in any format in 2017. Moreover, he didn’t play Tests since 2010. Overall, Kamran Akmal featured in 53 Tests, 157 ODIs and 58 T20Is scoring 2648, 3236 and 987 runs respectively. He certainly missed out on having a very successful career but a dip in wicketkeeping and batting form led to him losing his spot and though he did make a comeback in 2017, it turned out to be a brief one.

Meanwhile, Kamran keeps on giving his views on the happenings around cricket. But on August 14, he was trending on social media for a completely different reason ending up getting trolled for his mistake.
