Karachi to host PSL 2018 final, playoffs to be held in Lahore

In a very delighting news for the Pakistani fans, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly confirmed that the business end of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2018 will be held on the Pakistani soil. Lahore and Karachi are set to play the hosts for the playoffs matches this season. As per the recent reports in the brecorder, the finals of the PSL 2018 will be played at the National Stadium in Karachi.

And the playoffs matches before the finals will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Earlier, some reports had revealed that the PCB has already allocated funds for the development of the National Stadium. If the things go as per the plans, the fans could well be in for a big treat of T20 carnival in the 2018 edition of the tournament.

Players ready to tour Pakistan

Recently, as many as 15 overseas players had confirmed that they would travel to Pakistan if need be during the tournament. The auction drafts for the PSL 2018 were held recently, where Australia’s Chris Lynn proved to be the biggest attraction. The head coach of the Islamabad United franchise, Dean Jones, had also conceded that all the foreign players of his team are ready to travel to Pakistan for the tournament.

The Islamabad franchise boasts of the cricketers like Andre Russell, JP Duminy, and Imran Tahir. Not so long ago, another franchise, the defending champions Peshawar Zalmi also agreed to tour to Pakistan. The Zalmi cricketers had toured Lahore last year for the PSL 2017 finals against the Quetta Gladiators.

The growing numbers of the players ready to tour to Pakistan can be credited to the fact that Pakistan had recently successfully hosted a T20I match against Sri Lanka. Also, they had hosted the World XI side prior to that. It will be interesting to see Karachi and Lahore host the matches. The cricket world awaits the official announcement of the same.
