'Keep this in mind, I tell Jadeja the same thing' - Rashid Khan reveals MS Dhoni's crucial advice

Afghanistan’s leg-spinner Rashid Khan has not only become a household name in his country but has also earned fame in India due to his exploits in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 22-year-old spin magician is one of the most important members of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) side since 2017.

In the last three years or so Rashid Khan has made many friends in the Indian team. Recently, he was also in the news for mocking Yuzvendra Chahal and was also seen pulling a leg of Mumbai Indians batter Suryakumar Yadav.

Apart from fun banters, the leggie is also is in the news for opening up about his conversation with Chennai Super Kings skipper (CSK) MS Dhoni during the IPL. The 39-year-old loves to have interaction with youngsters and always gives his valuable advice to fellow cricketers who are always willing to learn and evolve. Rashid Khan too shared a chat with the legendary cricketer on the YouTube Show Cricast.

“After our matches, the discussions that I have with him have helped me. Last time he told me, ‘You have to be careful while fielding, you slide, throw the ball when it is not necessary, you get aggressive. Because there is only one Rashid Khan and people want to see you more, what will happen if you get injured? Keep this in mind, I tell (Ravindra) Jadeja the same thing’,” said Rashid.

Rashid also shared his desire to play under Dhoni as he feels the CSK skipper is best when it comes to guiding bowlers to give their best during crunch situations. Case in point Kuldeep Yadav and Chahal’s best form came till the time Dhoni was behind the stumps for Team India.

“I have a dream that I play under MS Dhoni because the experience playing with him, under him is very important. For a bowler, the role of wicketkeeper is very important and I don’t think there is anyone better than him to explain you things.”

Dhoni’s smart captaincy was instrumental in CSK’s revival in the 14th edition of IPL after they failed to make the playoffs last year. He may have lost his batting prowess, but he still rules when it comes to captaincy.
