Former South African cricketer Rilee Rossouw is the latest addition to the BPL roster. The southpaw is set to join the Khulna Titans for the 2017 edition of the tournament. Rossouw is a renowned hitter of the cricket ball and can take a heavy toll on any opposition on his given day. He recently signed up the Kolpak deal with Hampshire which cut short his international career for South Africa.

It was in January in early 2017 when Rilee Rossouw moved to England. Prior to his signing of the Kolpak deal, he had represented the Proteas in 36 ODIs and 15 T20Is. He has 3 ODI centuries to his name and his most recent international ton was against Australia in 2016.

This is the first time that Rossouw would be a part of the Bangladesh Premier League. Prior to this, he has already tasted the other T20 leagues in the world including the IPL and the PSL. In the 95 T20 matches that he has played thus far, he has amassed 2344 runs with 14 fifties to his name.

Performances in England

Ever since he has moved to England, he has not tasted as much success as he would have liked. He has mustered only 203 runs in the 10 innings that he has played for Hampshire this County season. This includes as many as 4 ducks. His top score in the season came against Middlesex when he scored 99. Earlier in April this year, Rossouw had scored 156 against Somerset in the Royal London One Day match.

He became the fifth overseas player to be signed by Khulna Titans after Sarfraz Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Chris Lynn, and Junaid Khan. Junaid Khan was retained by the franchise. The Khulna Titans made the announcement on their Facebook page where they wrote, “The stylish South African left handed top order batsman Rilee Rossouw will join Khulna Titans in this year’s BPL T20 2017!”
