Match Details:

The 30th match of the Kia Super League 2019 will be played between Southern Vipers and Loughborough Lightning at the Rose Bowl in Southampton.

The match starts at 6:30 PM local time (11:00 PM IST) (5:30 PM GMT).

Preview:

Southern Vipers and Loughborough Lightning will face on Wednesday which could be a warm-up for the semi-final between them on the finals day. The result of the game is hardly going to make a difference to the points table. Loughborough is placed at No.2 in the points table having won six matches including three of them by bonus point. They are currently on a 5-match winning streak which began with a win over Surrey Stars.

Lightning won only one of their first four matches. They lost two matches by huge margins to Western Storm, who are yet to lose a match this season. The other defeat came against Southern Vipers who sneaked in a 2-wicket win at the start of the season. The Vipers have gone opposite to the Lightning as the two of the three matches they lost this tournament came in the last ten days where they played three games.

Weather Condition/Report:

The weather in Southampton is expected to be inconsistent on Wednesday. The Rose Bowl is expected to be under clouds throughout the day with spells of rain. About 25-35% chances of rain is expected during match timings. The facilities at the Ageas oval are good enough to get a game once the rain stops.

Pitch Condition/Report:

The Rose Bowl has been on the slower side in recent times. Even in the T20 Blast, the scores below 150 have been defended successfully. In the previous match between Vipers and Diamonds, the home team managed to defending 127. The team winning the toss could elect to bat first and aim anything over 140.

Average first innings score: 139 (KSL games since 2018)

Record of chasing teams: Won – 2, Lost – 3

Loughborough Lightning are expected to record their 6th straight win.
