The defending champions Surrey Stars pulled off a thriller against the Yorkshire Diamonds. Surrey, who played at the Yorkshire’s home ground on opening day, sneaked through a 9-run win. On a slow Leeds track, they were restricted to 130/9 as they added only 22 runs from the last 32 deliveries. Yorkshire needed 37 runs from last six overs at a stage but were bundled out for 121 in the end.
Surrey will host Lancashire Thunder on Thursday at the Woodbridge Road in Guildford. The Lancashire team opened the tournament to a 34-run defeat against the Southern Vipers. Despite some good bowling in the death overs, the Vipers finished with 166/7. Georgie Boyce (43) and Tahlia McGrath (28) gave good start but the required run rate kept climbing and went out of Thunder’s reach.
The 4th match of the Kia Super League 2019 will be played between Surrey Stars and Lancashire Thunder at the Woodbridge Road in Guildford.
The match starts at 2:30 PM local time (7:00 PM IST) (1:30 PM GMT).
The weather might not affect the game as it begins at 2:30 PM local time. As per the weather forecast, the conditions could be cloudy from 5 PM and followed by showers from 6:30 PM, but after the game concludes.
Guildford hosted three Kia Super League matches in the past and all of those were slightly low-scoring ones. The chasing teams have often found the success here and the team winning the toss would prefer to chase only.

Injury and Availability News:
(Will be added when there is an update)
One cannot ignore Natalie Sciver, Dane van Niekerk, Tahlia McGrath and Sophia Dunkley who will add value with both bat and ball. Sciver and McGrath bat in top four while Niekerk and Dunkley do bat at No.5 or No.6. All four are expected to bowl a minimum of two overs.
Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:
Captain – Natalie Sciver, Tahlia McGrath, Dane van Niekerk
Vice-Captain – Lizelee Lee, Sophia Dunkley, Sarah Taylor
While the all-rounders do their bit with both bat and ball, Sarah Taylor has an extra aspect of keeping. The England keeper affects a couple of dismissals every game. On the other hand, Lizelee Lee is one of the powerhouses in Women’s cricket who can produce really big innings out of nowhere.
Suggested Playing XI for Head to Head/Small Leagues:
Keeper – Sarah Taylor
Batters – Georgia Boyce, Lizelee Lee, Bryony Smith
All-Rounders – Sophia Dunkley, Tahlia McGrath, Natalie Sciver (C), Dane van Niekerk
Bowlers – Alex Hartley, Sophie Ecclestone, Laura Marsh
Suggested Playing XI for Grand Leagues/Mega Leagues:
Keeper – Sarah Taylor
Batters – Harmanpreet Kaur, Georgia Boyce, Bryony Smith
All-Rounders – Tahlia McGrath (C), Sophia Dunkley, Natalie Sciver, Dane van Niekerk (VC)
Bowlers – Alex Hartley, Marizanne Kapp, Laura Marsh
With Grace Gibbs not getting a chance to bowl in the previous game, the likes of Alex Hartley, Sophie Ecclestone, Marizanne Kapp and Laura Marsh remain the only options from the bowlers’ category.
Surrey Stars are expected to register their 2nd consecutive win.
