Yorkshire Diamonds will host Loughborough Lightning at the Leeds in the KSL-T20 Blast double-header on Sunday. The Diamonds fell nine runs short of Surrey Stars’ total in their first game. The Yorkshire team missed the services of Katherine Brunt who was rested on the request of ECB to manage her back injury. The top-order of Healy, Winfield and Rodrigues have to step up and bat through for big totals.
On the other hand, Loughborough Lightning lost their first two games; both of them at home. In the first game, they lost three wickets in the first three overs and couldn’t get to a total that could threaten the Western Storm. The Lightning were in a position to win as the Southern Vipers who needed 19 runs from last two overs but three boundaries in seven deliveries took the game away from them.
The 7th match of the Kia Women’s Super League 2019 will be played between Yorkshire Diamonds and Loughborough Lightning at the Headingley in Leeds.
The match starts at 11:00 am local time (3:30 pm IST) (10:00 am GMT).
This game will be live on Yorkshire Cricket Club’s YouTube channel.
Leeds could receive rainfall on Sunday but it will be mostly during the evening. Since this game starts at 11 am local time, it is less likely that the game will get abandoned.
The Headingley pitch often tends to slow down as the game progresses. During the Yorkshire – Surrey game on Tuesday, both the teams struggled to score after the ball gets softer. However, since the T20 Blast game is played on the same pitch, a better and flat track can be expected for the Women’s fixture.
