Kings XI Punjab appoint Satish Menon as CEO ahead of IPL 2017

The Kings XI Punjab have not been the most decorated sides in the IPL when it comes to results. Despite having made sporadic appearances in the playoffs across the 9 seasons, they have failed as a consistent unit. Their most remarkable effort was in IPL 2014 when they emerged as the finalists of the tournament. They lost to Kolkata Knight Riders in the finals that year. In the previous edition of the IPL, they had to settle for the wooden spoon as they finished last in the league stages. Their fortunes on the field will be there to be seen in the future.

For now, the Kings XI Punjab team management has made a few key appointments. They have named Satish Menon as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the franchise. He is not a new name in media business. He has over 35 years of media experience ranging from digital media to print media. He has been in association with several top company like Sahara Television, Zee News, Zee TV, Mid Day and TV 18.

The Kings XI Punjab have also named Rajeev Khanna as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the upcoming edition of the IPL. Rajeev Khanna is a lawyer by profession. He has an experience of 16 years in sports industry. He was the General Manager of the Kings XI Punjab is the last edition of the IPL. Prior to that, he has served the Rajasthan Royals and also the Government of Rajasthan.

The co-promoters of the franchise were happy to announce their appointments. “Satish and Rajeev were a natural choice for the roles of CEO and COO based on the expertise in their respective fields. We are confident that their rich experience will bring immense value to the team,” they quoted.

Talking about his appointment, Satish Menon is excited about the new role and hopes to bring good fortune to the side. He quoted, “Having had the opportunity to work across various streams, I have enjoyed sports the most. I am absolutely thrilled to join the franchise and look forward to Kings XI Punjab having a great season this year.”

Rajeev Khanna also thanked the franchise for showing faith in him and is looking forward to the job. “I would like to thank the co-promoters and management for the immense trust they have placed in me by giving me this new role. With the team’s support, we look forward to an outstanding performance on and off the field.” quoted Rajeev Khanna.
