24-year old KL Rahul has been making waves in the Twenty20 international scenario with a wonderfully compiled century in the first T20 international in the recently concluded series against the West Indies. The Karnataka batsman smashed a century and ensured that the Indians came within two runs of reaching the total set by the Windies. Rahul did not even get a second chance to go ahead and claim revenge against the Windies as the second match was washed out.

However, in spite of the loss, many former cricketers have heaped a ton of praise on KL Rahul. The blazing knock off his bat seems to have gotten them smitten by the man’s ability to switch across formats with considerable ease. Tweets poured in from the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, and Virender Sehwag following his exploits in the first encounter at Lauderhill.

Replying back to all of their tweets, Rahul stated that he was thankful and grateful for the comments they made. His tweet read: “Thank you for your kind words @sachin_rt @YUVSTRONG12 @VVSLaxman281 @virendersehwag it’s great to have people you looked up to appreciate you.”

For some time now, Lokesh Rahul has been one of the shining lights of the Indian batting unit with his simple and straightforward approach to batting. He grabbed the headlines with a wonderfully compiled 158 in the second Test match against the West Indies and followed it up with a cluster of half-centuries. However, it is his fantastic ability to make the quick shift from Test cricket to T20 cricket that has got most of the former players off their seats and in complete applause for the youngster. At the end of the tour skipper, MS Dhoni also called Rahul a complete cricketer. Which weights a lot more than it appears.
