After making a superb comeback in the second Test at Bangalore against Australia, the Indian cricketers decided to step away from the game and take their minds off to refresh. The next Test is scheduled to be held at Ranchi on March 16 and the players have a gap of 8 days to rejuvenate.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli made his way back to his home in Delhi and shared a photo of him chilling and detoxing on Twitter.

On the other hand, the ace off-spinner was accompanied by Cheteshwar Pujara, Murali Vijay, Karun Nair, Wriddhiman Saha and Abhinav Mukund as all of them went for trekking. Ashwin posted a photo with all his teammates on Twitter.

Ashwin’s quote in the tweet holds true as the battle between the top two Test sides in the world has been hugely intense and it is extremely crucial to take a break from the game.

They had gone for hiking at Tamini Ghat near Pune even after losing the first Test. The game is equally tiring mentally as physically and it helps the players to engage their minds in other activities from time to time.

Australians too are on a 4-day break after the loss in the second Test and they will have their next practice session on Sunday. They were in command in the second Test too after the first innings of both teams but were blown away by a terrific partnership between Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane in the second innings.

Indians will be celebrating the festival of Holi in the interim too and will be hoping to continue the winning momentum while Australia would hope to turn the fortunes and get back to winning ways. Their preparations though have been hampered by the unfortunate injury to their spearhead pacer Mitchell Starc and others now would need to step up big time to fill in for Starc.

Going away from the battle is equally important as staying in it.
