Veteran Indian middle-order batsman Ajinkya Rahane recently showered praises on Indian skipper Virat Kohli. Rahane has been struggling with form on the personal front in the recent times. He, however, has got the firm backing of his skipper who has full faith in him. Rahane, too, reveres his captain a great deal.
As per the recent quotes in India Today, Ajinkya Rahane remarked that the best part about Virat Kohli is his focus level. He cited that Virat’s hunger for runs does not cease after scoring a 100. This part of his game is something that separates him out of the league of other cricketers.
“What I like about him especially in Test cricket is his conversion of 100s into 200s. I mean his focus level, concentration level after 100 never drops. He is still hungry, he wants to do well, he wants to contribute towards the team and that’s a great quality he has. You can easily score a 100 and play your shots and throw your wicket (away) but if you see him after scoring a hundred, he actually tightens his game, takes his time again and again wants to convert it into a big one,” quoted Ajinkya Rahane.
‘Keeping the team together’
Speaking further on the same note, Ajinkya Rahane conceded that the passion of Virat Kohli is rubbing on to the team. He backs each and every player on the field and that is keeping the unit together. Rahane feels there is a lot that one can learn from Kohli.
“I mean he is very passionate; we all know that. And he is actually keeping all of us together. He backs each and every one. I feel it’s good to have him and so many things to learn from him as a captain,” Rahane conceded.
