The Kolkata Knight Riders have reportedly roped in Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait. Shaun Tait is said to have been the replacement for an injured John Hastings who was ruled out after featuring in a couple of matches for the Knight Riders.
The Kolkata franchise CEO Venky Mysore recently welcomed the Aussie fast bowler on twitter with his tweet:
Pleasure to welcome @shaun_tait32 to @KKRiders family. Welcome Taity! pic.twitter.com/Us4NV3Blm1

John Hastings was looking good for the Kolkata Knight Riders before being ruled out following an ankle injury. Shaun Tait joined the KKR squad on Wednesday but did not bowl in the practice session. He had just last a few hours ago and hence decided not to hit the field on the same day.
Shaun Tait last played in the IPL for the Rajasthan Royals. He went unsold in the player auctions earlier this year for IPL 2016. Tait last played his last T20 international match in January this year when India toured Australia. He was one of the key bowlers for the Peshawar Zalmi side in the inaugural edition of the Pakistan Super League too. With Tait in the side, the Knights now have another good option in the bowling department. He also signed up with Glamorgan recently for the Natwest t20 Blast.
However, it is unlikely that Tait would get a go in the starting eleven of the side. Kolkata Knight Riders have been performing consistently well this season and have Andre Russell and Morne Morkel handling the new ball duties for them. Umesh Yadav often serves as the third seamer in the team.
Kolkata Knight Riders will play Rising Pune Supergiants on Saturday.
