KPL 2015 Match 3: Bijapur Bulls v Bellary Tuskers, Preview:

Hubballi, September 03, 2015: An interesting contest looms large when Bijapur lock horns against the tusks of Bellary in the first match on Friday, September 4.

The Bulls list looks impressive with Robin Uthappa, Abhimanyu Mithun, KC Cariappa, KP Appanna, Akhil Balachander, Suneel Raju and Rajoo Bhatkal, who have turned out for the State.

On the other hand, the Tuskers have woven their team around experience having picked most of the players who wore Mysore colours last season. Led by Devraj Patil, the team has Amit Verma, Bharath Chipli, NC Aiyappa and Aniruddha Joshi.

The teams are quite evenly matched. What Bellary lack by way of names, they make up by way of players with experience and capable of chipping in with useful contributions. Bijapur on the other hand will lean on Robin to do the bulk of the scoring, and Akhil, Suneel and Rajoo will be expected to support him.

However, it is the bowling department that could be the game changer for the Bulls. Mithun, Appanna and Akhil are seasoned bowlers and Robin will be banking on them to take care of 12 overs for as little as possible.

Having said that, Bellary’s attack will be no pushovers either as they boast of hat-trick bowler, NC Aiyappa in their ranks.
