Match Details:

The 20th match of the Karnataka Premier League (KPL) 2019 will be played between Hubli Tigers and Bengaluru Blasters at the Srikantadatta Narasimha Raja Wadiyar Ground in Mysore.

The match starts at 3:00 PM local time (IST) (9:30 AM GMT).

This game will be live on Star Sports and live streaming is available on Hotstar.

Preview:

The league phase of the KPL 2019 will come to an end of Tuesday. In the first of the two matches to be played on the day, the Hubli Tigers will face Bengaluru Blasters. This is a do-or-die game for both the teams. Tigers have won two of the five matches they played. If they defeat the Blasters, they will have six points and a ticket to qualify for the playoffs.

On the other hand, the Bengaluru Blasters’ situation is similar to that of the Tigers. The Blast got four points out of five matches out of which one was a Tie and another being washout. This meant they have only one win so far. If Mysuru Warriors beat Bellary Tuskers, the Blasters will require a huge win. Hence, they would be hoping the table-toppers, Bellary, to make them a favour.

Weather Condition/Report:

The precipitation levels read between 20% and 40% during Tuesday in Mysore. However, the chances of rain during the game have come down over the last couple of matches. There could be a delayed start due to the overnight and morning rains.

Pitch Condition/Report:

On a used pitch, the stroke making looked difficult on Monday afternoon. However, a different and fresh track is expected to be used for the last day of the league stage. It is expected to play similar to the pitch on Sunday, a high-scoring surface. Irrespective of the track to be used, chasing is the mantra in Mysore.

Average first innings score: 156 (Afternoon matches in the KPL 2019)

Record of chasing teams: Won – 2, Lost – 0

Top Picks:

The keepers on both the sides – Sharath BR and Luvnith Sisodia are the safest options given their batting position. Vinay Kumar has gained big points in every 2nd match and the game against Blasters could be that 2nd match. Nikin Jose’s numbers with the bat in the KPL are bankable as he averages over 30+.

Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:

Captain – Praveen Dubey, Sharath BR, Mohammed Taha, Rohan Kadam

Vice-captain – R Vinay Kumar, Aditya Somanna, Nikin Jose, Luvnith Sisodia

Praveen Dubey seems to be the ideal choice for captain given his form in the tournament. He has scored 25+ in previous four innings including a fifty in the last match.

Suggested Playing XI for Head to Head/Small Leagues:

Keeper – Sharath BR (VC), Luvnith Sisodia

Batsmen – Rohan Kadam, Nikin Jose, Mohammed Taha

All-Rounders – Praveen Dubey (C), R Vinay Kumar, Aditya Somanna

Suggested Playing XI for Grand Leagues/Mega Leagues:

Keeper – Sharath BR, Luvnith Sisodia

Batsmen – Rohan Kadam (C), Nikin Jose, KL Srijith

All-Rounders – Praveen Dubey, R Vinay Kumar (VC), Manoj Bhandage

Bowlers – David Mathias, Bharath Dhuri, Vidyadhar Patil

Expert Advice:

Vinay Kumar did rate Vidyadhar Patil highly after he conceded 49 runs in his first game of the season. He picked up five wickets in the next two matches but didn’t play the 3rd game. Patil is expected to return for this crucial match and if it happens, he should be picked in the fantasy team.

Probable Winners:

Bengaluru Blasters might face a tough task against the Hubli Tigers for making it to the semi-final.
