Controversial film personality Kamaal Rashid Khan stole headlines on Wednesday after India lost their World Cup semi-final clash against New Zealand by 18 runs at Old Trafford, Manchester. In a game that went into the reserve day because of rain, India were left to chase 240 to make their fourth World Cup final but their top order crumbled and even heroics from the late order couldn’t make it up. Virat Kohli’s men were all out for 221 in the final over to see yet another World Cup dream crashing for them.

Khan, who is also known as KRK, is known for his controversial takes and he was right up there once again. In a tweet, he patted his own back saying he had rightly predicted that the Black Caps will not lose the fourth game in the tournament. He also slammed Kohli asking him to go home and do advertisements and earn money and fool the public. Kohli, who didn’t score any hundred in the tournament, fell for just one after in-form Rohit Sharma’s early departure.

KL Rahul, who hit a century in the last match, was also back early as India were left tottering at 5 for 3 in the fourth over. It was a valiant 116-run partnership between Ravindra Jadeja (77 off 59) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (50 off 72) for the eighth wicket that had brought India’s chase back on the track somehow but eventually, they fell short by 18 runs.

KRK lashes out at Kohli, Anushka Sharma

KRK’s attack on Kohli hadn’t stopped there either. He criticised the India captain saying how could he win the World Cup when he couldn’t win a tournament like the Indian Premier League. He also accused him as the “biggest drama abuser player” in the country. Khan didn’t spare Kohli’s wife Anushka Sharma either.

Known for his digs at actresses, KRK called Anushka a “panauti” (curse) for the Indian team whenever she watches the game from the stand. He recalled the semi-final of the 2015 edition when also India lost to Australia while the actress was at the venue watching the game.
