India’s chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav showered praises for Indian wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni claiming that he is the only player who can judge his bowling perfectly and he is blessed to have a mentor like him in the team. Kuldeep Yadav recently made his debut against Australia in Tests and in West Indies in ODIs post-Champions Trophy.

Despite his impressive performance against Australia in Dharamsala and ODI series in West Indies, Kuldeep Yadav had to sit out of the matches in ongoing series against Sri Lanka, giving way to Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal in the Playing XI. Yadav believes that such healthy competition within the team is good for Indian Cricket in the longer run.

“There is no word to describe MS Dhoni’s influence on a young bowler like me. If you interact with him, like I have been doing for last six months, there is obviously so much to learn from him. I keep talking to him about my bowling. When I am playing for the team, then also I keep talking to him,” commented Kuldeep Yadav according to an interview with Xtratime.

Learnt a lot in last six months: Yadav

“There is no one better than him to judge you because he is watching from behind the wicket and he keeps telling me what I need to. I feel very proud that I am playing with him and very lucky that I could be playing in his 300th game. As spinners play more games, they keep on improving,” added Kuldeep when asked about his thoughts on Dhoni.

“In the last six months, I have learnt a lot from bowling in international matches, for example, how to overcome pressure especially when you have better batsmen over a period of time and so. You can only learn this by playing more matches,” quoted Kuldeep on his international experience until now.
