Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) finally won their second game of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The team defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by eight wickets. However, the margin doesn’t suggest that the game actually went down the wire until the last ball. Rather KXIP had yet again almost botched up a chase and the match could’ve gone to the super over.

With two runs needing in the final over, Yuzvendra Chahal, with nothing to lose, flighted each and every ball not giving any pace for batsmen to hit. In the process, KL Rahul and Chris Gayle couldn’t score runs at all and with the latter getting run-out, things got interesting with KXIP needing a run off the last ball. But Nicholas Pooran didn’t make fuss about it and smashed one down the ground which went for six, only just.

After dominating the chase throughout, KXIP had almost taken the game to the super over with their strange approach of not killing the game earlier. The franchise co-owner Preity Zinta was also present in the stands cheering for her team and she heaved a sigh of relief after KL Rahul and his boys finally arrested their five-match losing streak.

Preity Zinta’s funny tweet

She took to Twitter to express her emotions and was happy that the team won after a long time. The Bollywood actress also hilariously trolled KXIP stating that their matches are not for faint hearted. However, she praised RCB bowlers for not giving away easy runs and hanging in despite all the odds being against them.

Finally a much needed win for US Wish our team wouldn’t give heart attacks to people in the name of cricket. Statutory Warning @lionsdenkxip games are not for the faint hearted. I really admired the fight back from the RCB Bowlers in the end. #Ipl20 #Dream11 #RCBvKXIP #Ting,” her tweet read.

Here’s her tweet:

Meanwhile, KXIP are still at the last place in the points table but they are still in the race for the playoffs. The team will have to win all their matches to qualify for the next round and will be keen on continuing the winning momentum.
