Ravi Shastri has been an enigmatic personality of Indian cricket. He has often received a lot of flak from the netizens, but that hasn’t stopped him from expressing himself and opining on important matters. He was a part of the 1983 World Cup-winning Indian squad, led by Kapil Dev. For a long time, he donned the national colours and tasted a significant amount of success for India.
He is currently the coach of the national team. In the 2015 World Cup, he was Team India’s manager. Then in 2017, he was appointed as the head coach after Anil Kumble stepped down from his role. The latter had an ugly spat with national skipper Virat Kohli after which he stepped away. The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) then roped in Shastri as the most appropriate candidate.
Though India have won a number of bilateral series under his tutelage, they are yet to win a World title. In 2019, they qualified for the semi-final of the World Cup, but lost to New Zealand at the Old Trafford in Manchester. Back in May 27, Shastri turned 58 years old. Since the criterion to be India’s coach in 60, he still has a couple of years to garner some more laurels for Team India.
Recently, he put up a picture on Instagram, showing that there’s no substitute to hard work. Shastri captioned the picture and wrote, “There may be people that are more talented than you, but there’s no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do,”

In the meantime, the picture caught the eyes of Bollywood’s very own Ranveer Singh. The veteran was delighted with the motivational words and Shastri’s professional look in the picture. He replied to Shastri and wrote, “Kya baat,”
Here is Ranveer Singh’s reply
As far as Ranveer is concerned, he is set to play the role of Kapil Dev in the movie ‘83’. It’s a sports-related drama surrounding India’s triumph in the 1983 World Cup. Back then India beat the West Indies in the final at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. Apart from cricket, Ranveer is also a football follower and is a fan of Arsenal.
