The IPL franchise Mumbai Indians (MI) is basking in the glory of their fifth title. Mumbai registered their second title win on a trot by defeating Delhi Capitals (DC) by 5 wickets on November 10 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the final of the 2020 edition of the T20 Championship. It was a no-show run chase at Dubai as Mumbai’s batters easily smashed runs in reply to 156 posted by Delhi on the board in their 20 overs.
After winning another IPL crown, congratulatory wishes and warm messages are pouring in for the franchise, players and the captain Rohit Sharma from all over the world. The new addition to this list is Spanish football league La Liga. On November 11, La Liga took to their official Twitter handle to congratulate their brand ambassador Rohit Sharma for adding another feather to his cap.
This was Rohit’s sixth IPL title; he led Mumbai to victory five times, in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020 as a captain along with being a part of now-defunct Deccan Chargers IPL winning squad in 2009.
La Liga tweeted, “#LaLiga congratulates Brand Ambassador @ImRo45 on winning his 6th Indian Premier League title as captain. A big congratulations to all the @IPL fans out there!”

Rohit Sharma was appointed La Liga’s brand ambassador in December, 2019. India’s limited-overs vice-captain is the first-ever non-footballer brand ambassador appointed by La Liga globally and is the face of the league in India.
Trent Boult bags the Powerplayer award of IPL 2020
Throughout the tournament, New Zealand pacer Trent Boult was brilliant with the new ball. For his heroics in the mandatory powerplay, he was felicitated with the Powerplayer award of IPL 2020. Boult picked up 16 wickets in the powerplay of IPL 2020, at an economy rate of 6.72 in 36 overs.
Boult was also responsible for Mumbai’s win in the final of the T20 Championship as he took the priced wicket of Marcus Stoinis on the very first ball of the evening. This was followed by him giving another shock to Delhi Capitals by sending Ajinkya Rahane back to the pavilion. At the fag end of the innings, Boult also named the wicket of power-hitter Shimron Hetmyer to bag the Man of the Match Award.
