Current Head Coach of Afghanistan Cricket Team, Lalchand Rajput made himself available for the interview of Head Coach in the Indian Cricket Team via Skype. Rajput, along with the Afghanistan Cricket team, travels to London to play Marylebone Crockett Club on the 11th of July. Since the interview is scheduled to be held in the interim, Rajput made himself available online if asked by the CAC.

Rajput has previously worked with the Indian Team a decade back, during India’s successful campaign in the T20 World Cup of 2007 in South Africa. India won the inaugural edition of the Championship with MS Dhoni leading the side towards victory in his first major assignement.

Many domestic and international stalwarts have applied for the coveted post of the Head Coach of Indian Cricket team. Tom Moody, Phil Simmons, and Richard Pybus are lined up in the foreign front while Virender Sehwag, Ravi Shastri, and Dodda Ganesh hold the Indian front.

“I shall be leaving for London on 6th July to be with the Afghanistan team and not scheduled to return before our match against the MCC at Lord’s on 11th July. However, I will be available to appear before the committee for the interview, provided I am asked to do so.” commented Lalchand Rajput according to Kashmir Times.

Rajput also applied for the position last year before Anil Kumble was chosen as the coach by the CAC comprising of the big three of Indian Cricket: Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, and VVS Laxman. Ravi Shastri, who is in London at the moment, did not confirm his return for the interview process. Tom Moody as well is in Australia presently and did not wish to reveal much based on the telephonic conference. “Let us see how the interview process goes. I can not comment anything at this stage” said Tom Moody.
