South Africa tour of India is in its concluding stages but still, they are unable to find their grooves on the pitches of the Indian subcontinent. The only century that came from Proteas was from the willow of Dean Elgar. After that, he hasn’t ended his last three innings on a good note.

Irrespective of the average performance, Elgar finds the facilities in India not up to the mark. South Africans look on backfoot and it is pretty evident from the performances of their bowlers and batsmen. They are currently lagging the series by 2-0 and are playing the final Test in Ranchi.

Indian fans roast Dean Elgar over his complaint

Proteas opener thinks that it is always difficult and challenging when they are on a tour away from their country and also complained about the facilities of hotels and food in India, “It’s a challenging tour. You get stretched as a person, you get stretched as a cricketer, I think you get to know yourself quite a lot as a person when you come to the smaller places where the hotels are maybe not as good, and you get challenged on the field,” Elgar said as quoted by ESPNCricinfo.

After he commented on the tough conditions in India, fans didn’t find it cool coming from the Proteas left-hand batter. And then they started reacting against him. One fan even reminded him about India’s tour to South Africa in 2017-18 when the tourists were asked to use showers for not more than two minutes due to the water crisis in South Africa.

South Africa is currently involved in a battle against the hosts in the final match of the series which is being played in Ranchi. Vistors lost the series opener by 203 runs whereas in 2nd Test they got the same outcome and lost it by an innings and 137 runs. Team India is leading the ICC Test Championship table with 200 points but Proteas are still struggling to get their first points in the league.
