Left handed MS Dhoni smashes towering sixes at will

MS Dhoni is arguably the most popular cricketer of his generation. The way he muscles the ball over the ropes is something that the young players look up to. Ever since he broke on to the international scene back in 2004, he has only made giant strides in the direction of excellence. The first instance when he showed the world his prowess in the power hitting department was in an ODI fixture against Pakistan at Vizag.

A thunderous 148 runs came from his blade in that knock in 2006. A few matches later, the Sri Lankan team received similar hammering from his willow, if not worse. Playing at Jaipur, MS Dhoni clobbered 183 runs to put the Sri Lankan bowlers at bay as Indian chased down a huge total with ease.

The man had arrived at the big stage and in some fashion. Soon, he started settling in the role of the finisher for the Indian team. It was only a matter of time that he was handed the T20 captaincy and full time captaincy across the three formats subsequently. His role in the side changed but his game play did not. He ensured that he entertained the fans every time he took the field. Dhoni is renowned to be one of the power hitters of the game.

He can muscle very long sixes and at will. He is arguably the only batsman who can dig out yorkers and put them for maximums with his bottom hand power in the helicopter shots. Needless to say, he is an absolute treat to watch on the cricket.
