Pakistan has to quickly put behind its horrible performance against England in the ODI series and have to make a turnaround in the shortest format. The first T20I match will be played on Friday, 16 July. The Men in Green are usually considered one of the best teams in the T20 format and they will hope their senior players step up to deliver the goods for them.

One such senior member among the team is Shadab Khan, who didn’t have the best of the outing in the ODI leg of the series. The vice-captain of the team will be hoping for a much more improved performance from his side and the team. The leg-spinner recently spoke on how Pakistan is looking to make a strong comeback during the three T20Is.

“T20 is a different format and we have a different team. Our senior players like Hafeez and Imad Wasim have returned to the side,” Shadab told to India Today reporters during the virtual media press meet.

“Most players in the team have recently featured in the PSL. So we have played a good amount of T20 cricket and hopefully, you will see a good series.”

Shadab Khan is optimistic of coming back stronger by contributing with both bat and ball

When quizzed on his performances during the ODI series, the leg-spinner felt he was getting better as the series progressed and is looking forward to making an impact on both the batting and bowling departments of the game.

“I am making a comeback after injury. My recent performance was not good, but I feel I am in good rhythm lately and looking forward to contributing to the team in batting and bowling departments.”

The Men in Green have preferred the shorter formats in recent years, and the team must step up against a quality England side ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 which is set to be played in the UAE. On the other hand, England’s first-choice players have returned to the squad for the three T20Is.
