Bangladeshi fast bowler Rubel Hossain revealed that he has been putting in a lot of hard work to improve his Test bowling. The 27-year-old seamer lauded the national team bowling coach Courtney Walsh for his irreplaceable inputs to the bowler. Hossain, in an interview, told the local media that he was feeling healthy and was bowling with a full run-up. Rubel has featured in 24 Test matches for Bangladesh taking 32 wickets.

Bangladesh is set to play their impending Tests against Australia followed by a tour to South Africa. Australia will play their first Test in the subcontinent nation since 2006 in Dhaka in late August. The second Test is scheduled to take place in Chittagong in early September. However, the Aussies touring the subcontinent is yet unsure owing to the ongoing pay dispute between the CA and the ACA.

Following that, Bangladesh will tour South Africa, which comprises of two Tests, three ODIs and two T20Is. It will be the Bangladesh team’s first visit to South Africa in nine years.

Speaking to the reporters, the fast bowler said, “I have a lot to learn about Test cricket from Courtney Walsh because he has an amazing record in Tests. I will try to learn how to bowl with good line and length. Also, I wish to discuss how to take wickets against the big teams with him. Let’s see what happens,” as quoted by Daily Star.

Veteran Australian spinner Stuart MacGill also on BCB’s cards

Former Australian leg-spinner Stuart MacGill is also speculated to be roped in by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). If everything goes accordingly, MacGill will be joining as the country’s spin bowling coach

BCB president Nazmul Hasan also confirmed that MacGill was the preferred choice to come on board and mentor the country’s spin bowlers following a board meeting in Mirpur over the weekend. Nazmul, however, stated that no deal had been finalized, but they were willing to offer a short-term contract that would include the series against Australia and South Africa.
