The 18th match of the Lanka Premier League took place between Kandy Warriors and Dambulla Giants where the former won the game by six wickets. However, there was a moment that stole the limelight in the game. While the Giants were batting, the in from Philip Salt was on the crease and Binura Fernando placed the perfect delivery to dismiss the batter. After knocking him out with the perfect delivery, Fernando brought up the famous Salt Bae celebration on the table.

The reason behind bringing up the celebration by Fernando could be having the common name with batter (Philip Salt). The celebration got famous due to Turkish chef Nusret Gökçe’s trademark way of sprinkling the seasoning on dishes. The way got famous through his Instagram account where he boasts of having a huge following.

Talking of the game, the Warriors won the game by six wickets where Fernando was the pick of the bowler from the Warrior’s side as he picked three wickets while conceding just 22 runs. However, Ravi Bopara’s 59 off 50 led the chase for his team and he was declared as the player of the match in a low-scoring game. Warriors are playing their latest match against Colombo Stars in LPL 2021.

Ravi Bopara opens up after winning the Player of the match award

“There are two ways to go about such a target. You knock it over in 14-15 overs, or take it deep and bat till the end, that is what I did. I was told this morning that I’ll be batting at number 3 and that I had to bat through,” said Ravi Bopara after winning the player of the match award.

“We have been on the losing side most of the time, but we have played some exciting cricket. We opted to go with the extra seamer and that worked out for us. Zero pressure, to be honest, we just need to enjoy our game. Told the boys to play pressure-free cricket and we had a good outing today,” said Thisara Perera after winning the match.
