Ayush Badoni is up and running in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Within a span of a few days, the 22-year-old has become a household name from an unknown commodity. He has made his bat talk in Lucknow Super Giant’s all four games this season so far as the KL Rahul-led side recorded three wins. The 22-year-old dasher tackled Delhi Capitals bowlers in his last assignment and scored the winning runs.

With one needed off three deliveries, Badoni smashed Shardul Thakur for a six to take LSG over the line. Needless to mention, he was elated with the outcome and the same was evident in his celebration. He pointed out his name etched at the back of his jersey and then came up with a fist pump. This refreshed fans’ memories as former Indian skipper Virat Kohli has unleashed similar celebrations in the past.

Netizens didn’t take long in highlighting the similarity as they were sure that Badoni is another youngster to be influenced by Kohli’s mannerisms. Coming back to the game, Badoni faced just three balls in the game and scored 10 runs. Before smashing the match-winning six, the young dasher also collected a boundary.

With the dasher doing so well in his initial games, he’s set to get a long run in the team. LSG skipper KL Rahul is mighty impressed with the young gun as he didn’t hold back while praising him after the match.

“He (Badoni) has held his nerve every time he has gone into bat and he’s delivered for us under pressure. Great learning for him, important for him to keep working hard and stay humble. Been a complete team effort so far. The way everyone has stepped up has been brilliant,” said Rahul in the post-match conversation.

Meanwhile, LSG advanced to the second place in the team standings with this win and would be raring to extend their sensational run. They’ll next face Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday (April 10).
