South Africa speedster Lungi Ngidi is taking giant strides in the world cricket. He has had a phenomenal time on the field in the last year and a half. Ngidi had a dream Test debut earlier this season against the visiting Indian team in South Africa. And now, he is plying his trade in the Indian Premier League 2018 for the Chennai Super Kings. He fetched his maiden IPL contract at the auctions this season.

In the first half of the season, Lungi Ngidi did not get to feature in the lineup for the high flying Super Kings. He then had to head back to South Africa after the sad demise of his father. He came back to the tournament to complete his duties and was soon drafted in to the playing eleven. Lungi Ngidi made his IPL debut for the Super Kings against the Delhi Daredevils in Pune.

He played a very crucial part in the match and ended up bowling the all important final over in the crunch situation. He got the big wicket of Rishabh Pant in the game, who was looking in a threatening form on the day. Ngidi finished with figures of 1/26 in his complete quota of four overs in the match and ensured that his side ended on the winning note.

He then featured in two more matches in the season, against the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Royal Challengers Bangalore. And he is pretty much certain to get a few more chances this season for sure. His impressive performances in the tournament has resulted in an expanding fan base. Also, the Indian fans cannot resist themselves from drawing relations between Lungi Ngidi and the popular Bollywood song, ‘Lungi Dance’.

In a recent update, Ngidi took to micro blogging site Twitter to post one such fan made video. In the video, two young girls were seen dancing to the song ‘Lungi dance’ as they claimed to be the biggest fans of the South African cricketer. Ngidi remarked that the video ‘made his day’.
