The second season of the much awaited Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) kick started from today and the inaugural day saw an electrifying atmosphere at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. While we witnessed a full house at the ground, the iconic MS Dhoni was also present to be a part of the proceedings.

The fans surely could not have asked for anything more than Dhoni’s presence and the legendary cricketer granted their wish. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who has captained the Chennai Super Kings for 8 years was welcomed with loud cheers and gigantic roars as the fans expressed their love for the man.

However, the former Indian skipper also had something in store for the fans, and it was exactly what they were looking for. Mahendra Singh Dhoni took up the willow in his hand and challenged the bowling machine. Yes, you guessed it right. Mahendra Singh Dhoni was seen what he does best, hitting some mighty maximums.

The inventor of the helicopter shot, was at his best again as he dispatched a few deliveries into the second tier of the stadium. It was a delight to watch for the fans as Mahendra Singh Dhoni gave TNPL a green signal in his own style.

The opening day will also see the first match of the second season which will be held between the TUTI Patriots and the Dindigul Dragons. Patriots are the current title holders of the T20 league as they lifted the trophy in the opening season.

Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings will also feature in the lucrative Premier League in 2018, after serving a 2-year ban along with the Rajasthan Royals. Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be the franchise’s top choice again and they will go all out on the former skipper during the auctions.
