The Australians are set to play a two-match series against Bangladesh scheduled to start from 27th of August. The Australians have already landed in Bangladesh and will take on the Bangladesh Cricket Board XI in order to prepare themselves for the real deal. Mahmudullah Riyad and Mominul Haque will take part in the match despite being dropped from the Bangladesh squad for the Test series.
The main story:
The BCB revealed the Bangladesh squad that will take on the Australians in the first Test in Dhaka which did not include Mahmudullah and Monimul. BCB also stated the Mahmudullah will be the skipper of the BCB XI that will face the Australians on 22-23 August. Bangladesh will be captained by Mushfiqur Rahim when the Tigers take on the Kangaroos.
The venue of the practice match is not yet confirmed as BCB are trying to arrange the match at BKSP or ULAB ground in Mohammadpur. However, the Bangladesh seem to be oozing with confidence ahead of the tour. Many of the Bangladeshi players have stated that the team is capable of beating the Australians under any circumstances.
Bangladesh have grown immensely as a team in the Test and One Day formats in the recent years. They had a successful Test season last year where they defeated England in a Test match at home and also earned a Test victory against the Sri Lankans at Colombo.
Aussie legends Michael Clarke and Mike Hussey have also stated that the Bangladesh tour would not be a cakewalk for Steve Smith and his men. According to Hussey, it will be a tough challenge for them as the Bangladeshis know their home conditions very well.
The security is an issue for the tour and the Australians have carried three security professionals with them. The Australian team has also carried a chef to look after their choice of food.
