MS Dhoni’s retirement came as a shock for everyone. It was inferred that the former captain might opt for retirement as he didn’t play for ‘Men in Blues’ for over a year. But the thing that was surprising was that he chose to say goodbye to his favourite sport when the whole cricket fraternity was looking forward to the forthcoming season of Indian Premier League (IPL).

Yuzvendra Chahal, India’s preferred spinner in limited-overs cricket, also shared how the news came as dismay for him. He shared his feelings on the retirement of the most successful Indian captain. Chahal is serving the mandatory quarantine at the moment as he has reached Bengaluru ahead of IPL 2020.

Never crossed the line with him out of admiration, says Chahal on MS Dhoni

Yuzvendra Chahal conveyed his disappointment over the news. He said that it came as a shock for him as well as he wanted the veteran cricketer to play more for India. He also expressed that Dhoni is big support behind the wicket and he has helped him a lot whenever they have played together.

The leggie also mentioned that he enjoyed his time playing ‘PubG’ with the wicket-keeper during the lockdown.  “Main to chahunga ki Mahi Bhai khele.”, Chahal was quoted saying while speaking to CNN News 18.

Arguably the greatest finisher of all time, MS Dhoni is always seen serious on the field. His composure is also popular as he is often called ‘Captain Cool’. When asked whether he ever played some prank with the former skipper in the dressing room or not, Yuzvendra Chahal replied that they generally had a lot of fun, but never crossed the line with him out of admiration.

He continued to share that they respect their seniors, but also have the freedom to have some fun with them and credited friendly team environment for the same.

Notably, MS Dhoni has only retired from international cricket and he can only be seen in yellow jersey while playing for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL which will be played in UAE from 19th September this year.
