A large proportion of Indian Premier League players has opted to play in the Tamil Nadu Premier League. Players already playing in the TNCA’ s league (Tamil Nadu Cricket Association) enrolled their names for the upcoming TNPL draft, which is scheduled to be held in June.

The famous trio of Jolly Rovers, Piyush Chawla, Ankit Bawne, and Robin Bisht have already signed in for the draft. Former Indian International Piyush Chawla has been an integral part of the Kolkata Knight Riders setup, under the captaincy of Gautam Gambhir. Meanwhile, Ankit Bawne played his first game of the season for the Delhi Daredevils.

The Tamil Nadu Premier League has had a huge impact in the IPL auctions this season, as it had a knack of unearthing substantial talents of the country into the main stage of franchise cricket by the name of IPL. Talents such as T Natarajan came into the limelight due to the TNPL. Basil Thampi went on to receive the Emerging Talent Trophy due to good work with the ball for the Gujarat Lions this season.

“Chawla, Bawne, and Bist have filled their forms for the draft. Thampi is eager to take part in the competition and is on a high after his good show in the IPL. He is expected to register later this week.” stated a source according to Cricbuzz.

Baby, Vinod, Samson and Pandya brother to take part as well?

Domestic stars such as Vishnu Vinod, Sanji Samson, and Sachin Baby are also under the radar of officials for the TNPL. “Sir Theagaraya RC is in talks with Vishnu. The dashing batsman is likely to sign the deal and moreover he is no stranger to TNCA league. He did feature for a second division team in 2015-2016 season. A couple of teams are in touch with Baby and Samson as well. But nothing has been finalised as of now. If these guys do register themselves in the league, then there is every possibility of them featuring in the draft too,” quoted an official.

However, there is uncertainty about the inclusion of Sheldon Jackson and Jayant Yadav in the team. But Pandya brothers have declared themselves available for the tournament. Hardik is currently touring with the Indian team to England to take part in the ICC Champions Trophy which is scheduled to start tomorrow.
