Preview:

Malaysia suffered four successive losses in the inaugural tournament of League A’s CWC Challenge which they hosted this month. They started the tournament with a win against Denmark before falling down to the bottom of the table. Their poor form got extended into the home T20I series against Vanuatu as they fell 18 runs short of the target in the first game of the 5-match series.

Joshua Rasu’s 74-run knock helped Vanuatu finish with 151/5 in their 20 overs. Nalin Nipiko took four wickets at crucial junctures to unsettle the chase. This was the 2nd time in the last ten days that Vanuatu has got better of Malaysia. During the CWC Challenge match, Vanuatu defeated the hosts by 13 runs despite scoring only 65. Thus, they broke the record for lowest defended total in List A history.
