Incidentally, the explosion has certainly brought the cricket fraternity to a standstill since England is due to host the Champions Trophy in less than 2 weeks. Also, the venue for the matches of the Indian team is close to Manchester. This is the prime reason, as per the reports in Wahcricket, why the BCCI has summoned all the senior officials to an emergency meeting today. The meeting will see the officials review complete details of the tour for the Indian team.

Monitor the entire schedule

They will monitor the practice sessions, traveling, and also the team hotels in the meeting. Team India is expected to play two warm-up matches before the tournament proper that commences on June 1. The first warm-up match will be played against New Zealand on May 28 and the second one will be played on May 30 against Bangladesh.

There will definitely be security concerns since the arch-rivals India and Pakistan are scheduled to lock horns in their first game of the tournament on June 1 in Birmingham. In the last few years, things have not been on a good note between the two sides and the political tensions could well see the extremists target the big game.
