Rising Pune Supergiant middle-order batsman Manoj Tiwary stated that he would love to repeat his feat from IPL 2012, again, this Sunday, for the Rising Pune Supergiants against the winners of Qualifier 2 tomorrow at Bengaluru. The batsman from Bengal also expressed that it is moments like these players cherish the most in their careers.

Manoj Tiwary’s contribution lower down the order has been auspicious for the Rising Pune Supergiant this season as he has resurrected many innings for his franchise with his cameos. His knock against the Mumbai Indians in the first qualifier proved to be match-winnings as he propelled Pune’s score towards an improbable 161, along with fireworks from Dhoni.

One can easily figure out the excitement of the 31-year old in an interview with xtratime.in as he gears up for the all-important IPL Finals on Sunday against Kolkata Knight Riders or Mumbai Indians. On being asked about his feeling about featuring in the second final in his IPL career, Manoj Tiwary stated that he was heavily focused on the upcoming match.

“I am feeling very excited to be in the final for the second time. All I need now is to stay focused for the final. I am really looking forward to playing in the final on Sunday,” said the former KKR batsman according to xtratime.in. He further added that he is uncertain about how the match would unfold but was certain about his efforts in the middle.

“I don’t know how the match will turn out on Sunday. I just want to go out in the middle and perform to the best of my ability. For any cricketer, he wants to be remembered by doing well in a big final,” iterated the quintessential East-Zone batsman. He hoped that Rising Pune Supergiants elected to field first in order to repeat his feat against Chennai Superkings back in 2012, where he hit Dwayne Bravo for consecutive boundaries, as KKR clinched their first IPL Trophy.

Wish to hit winning runs

“If we’re chasing I would love to hit the winning runs for my side. The important thing for me is to make a valuable contribution to the side,” claimed the batsman who won four Stylish Player of the Match this season. Tiwary later was quizzed about playing alongside arguably the greatest finisher in cricket. He affirmed that it was a joy for him to see the master at work from the best seat in the house.

A word on MS Dhoni

Manoj Tiwary had hit words of praise reserved for MS Dhoni as well. Both batsmen have played the role of the finisher for the Rising Pune Supergiant this season.

“Yes, it’s something of a new experience; I have played with him (Dhoni Bhai) in the Indian team but not batted with him. This was the first time I watched him bat closely from the other end. In slog over’s he (Dhoni) is still the master. He makes it look so simple. There are a lot of things to learn to watch from the other end. We are fortunate to have him (Dhoni) in the dressing room,” concluded the Indian discard.
