David Warner’s run with the willow in the second phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL) started in the worst possible manner after the left-handed opening batsman was dismissed for a three-ball duck against the Delhi Capitals.

Anrich Nortje bowled a short delivery that went away from Warner, the left-hander was caught unawares, he tried to fend it awkwardly towards the leg side, the ball took the leading edge, and Axar Patel took a simple catch at point.

At the time of writing, the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) scorecard reads 45/2 after 8.1 overs, and the two batsmen who are currently out in the middle for the ‘Orange Army’ are Kane Williamson and Manish Pandey. While Williamson is batting on 11, Pandey has consumed 11 deliveries and scored 10 runs.

After Warner, Wriddhiman Saha was the next man to be dismissed and hit a short delivery from Kagiso Rabada straight into the waiting hands of Shikhar Dhawan who was stationed at mid-wicket.

And, the fans have taken to social media to troll the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener. While one fan stated that Warner’s horror run continues, another tweeted that Warner was not included in the side in the first phase of the tournament, and when he got a chance, the left-hander could not survive against Nortje.

Another fan stated that Warner should focus on his tik tok career, while yet another fan tweeted that several fantasy leagues were destroyed by Warner’s three-ball duck.

David Warner will go down as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of IPL cricket. The Aussie is the 5th highest run-scorer in the tournament and has amassed a staggering 5447 runs at an average of 42.22 in 149 IPL matches. He has also plundered 50 fifties and 4 centuries in the IPL as well.
