New Zealand’s explosive opener Martin Guptill has posted a picture of the New Zealand national cricket team’s latest jersey for the T20I format on a photo sharing site (Instagram). The Blackcaps are currently taking part in the ongoing 3-match ODI series against India. Both the sides have won a game each and they will look to seal the series in the final ODI in Kanpur’s Green Park Cricket Stadium.

The Kiwis’ kit has got the traditional mix of black and grey and the players look forward to wear them in the upcoming contest against India in the shortest format of the game. It has also been mentioned by Guptill that the particular jersey will be sported by them for the next two years.

Over the years, the Blackcaps’ kit has been one of the most loved jerseys among all. Coming to the latest action, Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson credited the Indian bowlers for winning the game for the hosts in Pune and also added that they will have to play better cricket to win the finals. “The New Zealand cricketers look pretty sharp wearing it and the black has become a signature color for them. “One of those surfaces where if you get a good score on the board and squeeze, the bowlers would have made life difficult.” he said.

“We weren’t good enough at the top, India’s opening bowlers were very very well, hit the mark, the length on that surface. There’s a lesson there for us. And we know we have to play a lot better to beat these guys. The surface wasn’t easy to play fluently and Colin came out and went at run-a-ball. We came here with high hopes, we put a much better performance in Mumbai and we need to be better again in Kanpur” he added.
