Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar in Chennai to build a BMW: Millions of us have seen Sachin Tendulkar built innings after innings to tower the prodigious number of runs and records that he did in his 24 years cricketing career. Since Sachin has quit cricket and has not committed himself to any permanent term duty, he is enjoying his time out travelling and doing what his heart calls out for. In his quest to explore something that he always wished to experience Tendulkar got to the BMW factory in Chennai.

Being there, he first overviewed the process and then put in his hand at assembling the car along with the engineers at the BMW’s Chennai plant.
Sachin who is also a Member of Parliament was there to also support the Make in India initiative launched by the Government of India, a dream project of the Prime Minister of India. The German based luxury car manufacturer said that almost 50% of the car is assembled in India to support the initiative.
The cricketer was there to mark the initiation of assembling the BMW 5 series car’s with the use of auto components made in Indian. Sachin at the occasion said: “I am an avid BMW enthusiast and have been driving BMW cars since a very long time. But the experience of making a BMW with my own hands was unique and unforgettable,” said the legendary cricketer who is visiting the plant.
The Chennai plant is said to have the capacity to locally produce up to eight models of BMW one of the finest luxury cars across the globe in the two assembly lines that they have.
