This CrickingDuels Fantasy guide is for the match 30 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season which will be played between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Delhi Daredevils (DD). The game will be played at MCA International Stadium in Pune which is the new home for the Men in Yellow. Chennai are currently at the second position in the points table with 5 wins after seven matches while Delhi have won only a couple of matches and need to play their best cricket here on to qualify for the playoffs.
As far as the venue is concerned, the Stadium in Pune is small and the game is expected to be a high-scoring encounter. Both the teams are filled with T20 superstars and the bowlers might have a tough outing. The pitch was on the slower side during the last match between CSK and Mumbai Indians (MI) and the spinners might come into the play as well. Here we bring to you the CrickingDuels Fantasy guide for the game:
Chennai Super Kings vs Delhi Daredevils:
Batsmen
In the shortest format of the game, the openers get to play the maximum number of deliveries. So we have to take care that we pick at least one opener from both the teams. Now we have Ambati Rayudu, Shane Watson, Prithvi Shaw and Colin Munro as the openers for this game. Watson and Munro are amongst the all-rounders so we can easily pick Shaw and Rayudu in our team.
Also, make sure that you have at least one batsmen playing in the middle order for his team. In case, the openers fail then we should have a decent back up in our fantasy side. So we have the option of picking Suresh Raina and Shreyas Iyer as both bat at number 3 for there teams. Apart from them we also have Sam Billings who is due a big knock but he seldom gets to bat as he comes down the order for CSK.
All-Rounders
Shane Watson walks into any Fantasy side given the form he is in and he also contributes with the bowl. He is a perfect fantasy material who can earn a lot of points for you on his day. Now, in this department, we have the likes of Dwayne Bravo, Glenn Maxwell, Munro as well but as we have to accommodate bowlers as well, I can only pick one of these 3 players. I will go with Maxwell in this case, as he bats at 4 and is dangerous on small grounds like Pune and can pick an odd wicket or 2 with the ball. Bravo is also a good option if one wants to go with but picking him in the team is risky again as he can go for runs while bowling at the death and he hardly gets an opportunity to bat.
Wicketkeeper
Now here comes the biggest dilemma. Both Rishabh Pant and MS Dhoni are in great form this season and are batting at number 4 for their respective sides. Here we have to go with the gut feeling as both the players are available for the same budget. I will go with Pant given that the bowling attack of CSK is not so strong and he can score more runs which will help me in churning out more points.
Bowlers
Here again, we have to pick the bowlers who are the wicket-takers. Trent Boult is a no-brainer on the current form as he is the purple cap holder. I will also go with Liam Plunkett as he is also certain to play this game. Now as far as the bowlers of CSK are concerned, only Shardul Thakur and Harbhajan Singh are certain to play.
With Deepak Chahar injured there might be some changes in the line-up and Imran Tahir might have to sit out. So we cannot risk picking him. I will go for Harbhajan Singh as the third bowler and then either of Avesh Khan and Shardul could be picked. But according to the rules, we cannot have more than 6 players from one team so I will go with Shardul Thakur in my team. If one wants to pick Avesh Khan, then one of Boult or Plunkett has to be dropped.
