This CrickingDuels Fantasy guide is for the match 53 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season which will be played between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). It is a virtual knockout game for both the teams as the NRR is also likely to come into the equation. Only a win can keep their hopes of qualification to the playoffs. Moreover, the hosts will need a huge win courtesy of their poor net run-rate. However, the prospect of must-win games will start the weekend in a thrilling way as the league stages are about to end.
Ajinkya Rahane will be worried about the replacement players for Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler who have left to join England Test squad for their upcoming series against Pakistan. RCB start this game as the favourites given the way they’ve played so far in the last three matches. The confidence in high for Virat Kohli and his men and expect a more clinical outing for them with a place in the playoffs up for grabs. Here we bring to you the CrickingDuels Fantasy guide for the game:
Rajasthan Royals (RR) vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB):
Batsmen
Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers are the two batsmen who walk into my Fantasy line-up on any given day. Both are in great form and no wonder they will be itching to put up a special performance for their side in the crunch game. The other two batsmen are from the Royals, Sanju Samson and Rahul Tripathi. I would like to see the latter opening the innings and he will not disappoint again this time around. Samson has completely gone off after a belligerent innings against the same side earlier this season. He might find his groove at the right time which will be huge for his team.
All-Rounders
Moeen Ali was a surprise package in the last match the way he middled the ball with utter ease. His batting impressed me the most and has to pick him in the team. Krishnappa Gowtham is my favourite and can again play a crucial role for his team with the ball up front. Rahane has kept faith in him in almost every game and despite going for runs, he should continue taking the new ball in this encounter as well.
Wicketkeeper
The departure of Jos Buttler to England has left me with only one wicketkeeper to pick. Surprisingly, Heinrich Klaasen has been kept in the batsmen category and Parthiv Patel is the one who comes in for almost everyone. The left-hander also opens the innings for his team and can score quick runs but anyways his points won’t make any difference.
Bowlers
Umesh Yadav and Tim Southee are the two bowlers from the visiting side I have decided to pick. Both have proved themselves so far this year and should continue playing a huge role in this match as well. They were key in RCB’s defence of 219 runs against SRH. Jofra Archer and Ish Sodhi are the last two players in my side. Both will have to perform for the Royals and they are known to be the number 1 T20 players. They will pick wickets for sure and Sodhi’s points would be a bonus for me given that not many must have picked him.
