Former Indian cricketer, Mohammad Kaif, turned 37 on December 1 this year. On his special day, he received birthday wishes from all corners of the cricket world. Kaif is known as one of the pioneers of agile fielders in the Indian setup. During his playing days, Mohammad Kaif formed a formidable pair with Yuvraj Singh to protect the off side for the national team.

His heroics with the bat in the NatWest Series finals of 2002 is still etched fresh in the minds of all cricket fans. He was totally fearless on the cricket field. However, his most recent conversation with former Australian opener Matthew Hayden reveals that even he felt terrified at times. The conversation, obviously, was on a lighter note. Matthew Hayden initiated the conversation on the social media site Twitter.

He posted a birthday tweet for Kaif and pointed at one of Kaif’s favorite fielding position – the close in fielding position. Kaif was renowned to field with the helmet on at the short leg and silly point regions. Referring to the same, Matthew Hayden noted that he feels sorry to have terrified Kaif whilst he was batting and Kaif was fielding at close in positions. Hayden has been very vocal about Indian cricketers these days. He recently showered praises for Harbhajan Singh and rated him more aggressive than R Ashwin.

“Happy Birthday @MohammadKaif I’m sorry for terrifying you at bat pad for all@those years???? Have a wonderful year full happiness and joy!!!,” tweeted Matthew Hayden.

Kaif relaxed to see the mic version of Hayden

Mohammad Kaif humbly acknowledged the birthday wish shared by Hayden. He was humble in quoting that Hayden did not only terrify him but all the bowlers around the world.

“Haha..Thank you @HaydosTweets . You terrified not just me but bowlers all around the world. So relaxing to see this on the mic version of you :),” Mohammad Kaif responded to Hayden’s tweet.
