With some sensational performances, Mayank Dagar knocked the doors of the Indian Under-19 side and played the World Cup last year. Ever since his looks and fitness regimes have been a catching the eye of fans on social media and the youngster has managed to earn more followers than any of his teammates from the Under-19 batch of the 2015-16.

Under the leadership of young Ishan Kishan, India reached the finals but narrowly bowed down to the Windies in the final. Born in the national capital Delhi, Mayank represents the highly-spirited Himachal Pradesh side in the Ranji Trophy. Primarily a left-arm spinner, he comes in handy with the bat as well on occasions.

Interestingly, the 22-year-old is distantly related to the legendary opener of the yester-generation, Virender Sehwag. Mayank’s mother is the first cousin of the former India star. When he got selected in the Under-19 side last year, he said to the press that he still had a picture of Sehwag from his Under-19 days back in 1998.

Without a shadow of a doubt, this youngster is following Virat Kohli‘s path in making a good name for himself in the fashion fraternity. He spends a good time in the gym to maintains a lean physique and it’s certainly palpable with few of his pictures on his official Instagram handle.

Himachal’s very own kid

The youngster is off to a decent start in his professional career, picking up 30 wickets in his first 11 first-class matches. He’s an integral part of the Himachal side that is representing in the ongoing Ranji Trophy. Although he was born in Delhi and his parents still live there, he doesn’t wish to leave Himachal as he loves the place a little too much.

“The facilities in Dharamshala are excellent. You don’t get such facilities in any other state. Anurag Thakur sir takes care of every need of the cricketers. I have never thought of shifting to Delhi,” remarked the youngster in an interview last year.

Apart from the cricketing reasons, he has been attracting a lot of female fans through his looks and social quotient. He balances his work life and social life brilliantly and is on his way towards becoming a fan favourite in the times to come.
