The love and craze for Pakistan Super League is evident on every Pakistani and the fact that its final will be played in Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore serves just as an icing on a cake. Fans from all over Pakistan stormed the ticket booths from the minute tickets went online for sale and such is the hunger of Pakistanis for cricket that all of the stadium was sold out in less than two hours. Many got tickets and most didn’t, including Mehr Khalil, the heroic bus driver who saved the Sri Lankan cricket team from the horrors in March 2009.
Talking exclusively to Geo News, Mehr Khalil raised his concern about not getting any tickets for the PSL Final in Lahore. He said, as we quote, ‘I initially went to the ticket booths to buy tickets for my family but they were all sold out. I tried to contact PCB officials for help but they neither paid any heed nor attended my calls. I have come from abroad to watch international stars play again in Pakistan and I am very disappointed.’

This interview triggered cricket fans and they started a social media campaign for the Hero of 2009. This targeted campaign was finally noticed by PCB officials and they contacted Mehr. He is now awarded two VIP passes for the final and will watch the game with all the dignitaries on Sunday at Gaddafi Stadium.
