India Women Cricket team made their way into the history books in grand style as they made it to the finals of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup. Few members of the team graced their presence on the sets of the reality game show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC).
Indian captain Mithali Raj, Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Punam Raut, Veda Krishnamurthy, Jhulan Goswami and Deepti Sharma were present on the sets of the show. The host, Amitabh Bachchan gave them a grand welcome and congratulated for their outstanding performance in the World Cup. The prize money that the players earned on KBC will be donated to the Institute of Social Development.
The Indian opener expressed her delight after the show
The dashing opener Smriti Mandhana took to twitter to express her delight after spending the time with the legendary actor after the show. Her tweet read, “Had a marvelous time being on the sets of KBC & working with wonderful people. Special thanks to @SonyTV for an amazing experience.”
The post also had the picture of the cricketers standing along with the host Amitabh Bachchan. The cricketers seem to have relished their time on the sets.
Ever since the team has returned from England, they are being felicitated all over the country by their respective states. The team was specially congratulated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally. Also earlier this week, Arjuna award was conferred to Harmanpreet who played the innings of her life (171*) against Australia in the semifinals. Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami from the current team have already received an award in the past for their contribution to cricket.
