Match Details:

The 14th game of the 2019 Malaysia Men’s CWC Challenge League A will be played between Qatar and Vanuatu at the Kinrara Academy Oval in Kuala Lumpur.

The match starts at 10:00 AM local time (2:00 AM GMT) (7:30 AM IST).

This game can be viewed on the YouTube channel of Malaysia Cricket.

Preview:

Qatar’s campaign in the inaugural League A’s CWC Challenge will conclude when they face Vanuatu. Their performance in the tournament thus far can be considered as an under-performed one. They began with a win over Singapore, the 2nd best side of the competition and followed with a big win over the hosts. A defeat against Canada was an expected one but they fell short of Denmark’s total in the previous game.

With two wins and two defeats, they are placed at No.4 out of six sides. If they can defeat Vanuatu by big margin in the last game, they will have a chance of finishing 2nd with Canada showing their supremacy over Singapore in the other game. Vanuatu lost three games on the trot before successfully defending their total of 65 against Malaysia. They will also look to finish with a win and move to No.3 or No.4 in the points table.

Weather Condition/Report:

For the first time in the tournament, we had a reduction in the overs. The Canada-Denmark game hosted by the Kinrara Academy Oval saw the 2nd innings cut down to 33 overs. Thursday’s weather could be no different from what we saw on Wednesday.

Pitch Condition/Report:

The high average scores at the Kinrara Academy Oval are due to Canada’s brilliance with the bat. They posted three 300+ totals in as many matches at this venue while batting first. The conditions for batsmen might not be that good in general here but totals of 250 can be common.

Average first innings score: 275 (List A matches since 2018)

Record of chasing teams: Won – 1, Lost – 6

It might not be ideal to pick Vanuatu players based on their performance on Wednesday. The conditions they play on Thursday are expected to be better. Their bowlers might not be as dominant as they were on the other day.
