Match Details:

The 4th game of the 2019 Oman Men’s CWC Challenge League B will be played between Jersey and Hong Kong at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground Oman Cricket (Ministry Turf 1).

The match starts at 9:30 AM local time (5:30 AM GMT) (11:00 PM IST).

Preview:

Hong Kong started the campaign in the CWC Challenge with a 3-wicket win against Bermuda on Tuesday. Kinchit Shah was the star for the Hong Kong in that match as his unbeaten hundred powered them to chase down the target of 292 in a last-ball thriller. They will be hoping to continue the momentum as they face Jersey on Thursday. The Jersey team were involved in the tournament opener where they lost to Uganda by 25 runs. Chasing the target of 249, the Jersey team stood at 161/3 in the 37th over. The required rate was only 6.6 at this stage but losing wickets in a spree costed Jersey’s progress.

Weather Condition/Report:

Al Amerat has witnessed clear weather thus far during the CWC Challenge and the same is expected to be seen during the match between Jersey and Hong Kong.

Pitch Condition/Report:

Both the matches hosted by the Ministry Turf 1 in this tournament have recorded totals between 210 and 250. In the first game, 248 was defended successfully while Italy chased down 211 without much trouble in the previous match. Since the track here gets slower as the match progresses, we can expect totals above 240 getting defended.

Kinchit Shah is going through the form of his life with both bat and ball. He scored an unbeaten hundred against Bermuda and also took two wickets. In the same game, Waqas Barkat scored a quick-fire fifty and he also claimed two wickets. He bowled seven overs in that match and could be seen bowling at least five overs against Jersey. Jersey skipper Chuggy Perchard has claimed 100 wickets thus far in 95 matches for Jersey at a strike rate of 23.8.

Suggested Playing XI No.1 for Fantasy Cricket:

Keeper – Jake Dunford

Batters – Waqas Barkat, Nick Greenwood, Jonty Jenner

All-Rounders – Ben Stevens, Nizakat Khan, Dominic Blampied (VC), Kinchit Shah (C)

Bowlers – Ehsan Khan, Aftab Hussain, Julius Sumerauer

Suggested Playing XI No.2 for Fantasy Cricket:

Keeper – Aarush Bhagwat

All-Rounders – Nizakat Khan, Aizaz Khan, Kinchit Shah (VC), Ben Stevens (C)

Bowlers – Ehsan Khan, Chuggy Perchard, Julius Sumerauer

Expert Advice:

Nathaniel Watkins could be the differential pick from all-rounders category where there are already five popular players. Watkins aggregated 1212 runs for Jersey across all formats at an average of 29.56 with help of 8 fifties and a hundred. He has also claimed 64 wickets from 48 matches for the country. However, in the first match, Watkins did not bowl and has not played a match for Jersey in nearly one year. This is the reason why he has not picked him in our fantasy XIs. Otherwise, he can be selected as captain since he is the opener.

Probable Winners:

Hong Kong is expected to register their 2nd consecutive win of this competition.
