Michael Clarke, the former Australian cricketer, has reportedly sold his Bondi Beach ‘bachelor pad’ a day after announcing his split from wife Kyly. The veteran had hoped to bag $8 million dollars for the penthouse when it was put on the market in August for a brief period. But as per reports, he could only manage a figure in the $7 millions after a late-night negotiation on Wednesday.

Clarke, the 2015 World Cup-winning captain, is said to be living there despite selling the home. Back in 2009, he brought the apartment for $6 million from his friend Anthony Bell, also a celebrity accountant. It’s a three-bedroom property and has floor-to-floor ceiling glass windows. The place also has a humongous open playing living area that has natural light

The house also has a couple of bathrooms, a double garage and a large kitchen. It’s been known that Clarke had moved to the Bondi in September 2019 after splitting from Kyly, leaving their $12 million family home in Vaucluse. Kyly and Michael, both of whom are 38-year-olds, confirmed their divorce on Wednesday after separating at least five months ago.

Clarke and Kyly got married in 2012

“After living apart for some time, we have made the difficult decision to separate as a couple amicably,” the statement read as per Daily Mail. The couple tied the knots back in May 2012 and has a four-year-old daughter by the name of Kesley Lee. In the statement it was also mentioned that their decision was taken keeping in mind the future of their daughter.

“With the greatest of respect for each other, we’ve come to the mutual conclusion that this is the best course for us to take while committed to the co-parenting of our daughter,” the statement stated.

“We’d like to acknowledge the wonderful support we’ve had from family and friends, and at this time request privacy so that we can manage this next stage of our lives,” the statement added.

Earlier, Kyly, who’s a former model and a TV presenter, said that she shared a great camaraderie with Clarke and their separation was non-existent. Clarke was previously engaged to Lara Bingle, another model before separating in 2010.
