The Indian team is being heavily criticised for their loss at Lord’s. Their batsmen have looked timid in front of James Anderson and Stuart Broad’s swing bowling. The second Test, despite frequent rain interruptions, ended inside four days and the road ahead for the visitors is looking grim at the moment. Michael Vaughan was delighted with the way the hosts outplayed the number 1 Test team and also criticised India for their dismal show.

After losing the toss, the Indian batsmen came up against a rather harsh examination in extreme conditions for which they were certainly not prepared for. But things improved (not by much) in the second innings and the fans were expecting that the batters will give a better account of themselves. Instead, what followed was a same old story and were bundled out for 130 and conceded yet another game in the five-match series.

Vaughan lauds England bowlers

Team India was bundled out twice in 82.2 overs and they could only muster 237 runs combined in both the innings. This shows how off the mark they were as a team. Even the bowlers failed to bundle out the opposition for the first time in last five matches. Michael Vaughan also pointed out the same thing in his tweet and criticised India for their performance.

“82.2 overs … 237 Runs … 20 wkts … That was a Test that lasted 170.2 overs … !!!!!! #2-0” he wrote and also went on to praise his team for thumping the World number 1 team effectively inside two days of the Test match. However, he was also aware that England are expected to dominate in such conditions but the way they annihilated them by not giving an inch at any stage was praiseworthy.

“English conditions YES … Would you expect England to Win YES … but to hammer the No1 Team inside 2 allocated days is some effort … I declare it #BeerOclock,” Vaughan further wrote.
