India has won the second Test match against Australia at MCG to level the series 1-1 at the moment. India’s chances of making a comeback looked quite dim as they displayed an embarrassing show in the Adelaide Test after getting bundled on just 36 runs. The entire cricket fraternity and experts talked about India’s horrific collapse in the first Test. Former English cricketer and commentator Michael Vaughan stated clearly that India will be hammered 4-0 in the series.

His tweet came after the first Test but after India’s current win at MCG, seems like Vaughan has taken a complete U-turn with his Tweet. He has lauded India’s effort to win the game, especially in odd hours. He also appreciated the captaincy effort by Ajinkya Rahane and stated that debutant Shubman Gill will walk up as a new star in times to come.

“Congrats India .. Winning against the odds is always special. Has to be the best all-round performance by a Captain we have witnessed for many many years .. well-done @ajinkyarahane88. Also, @RealShubmanGill is going to be a star .. #AUSvIND !”

Though various cricketers talked about India’s poor show in the first Test match, Vaughan was clear enough to state that India will lose the Test series 0-4 in Australia. Ajinkya Rahane, the stand-in skipper, stood up too well for India while leading them from the front. Due to his brilliant ton in the first game and finishing things in the second innings, he was named as the player of the match.

Vaughan’s old Tweet

However, Vaughan had to take a U-turn after India’s historic win at MCG. In fact, he came with a tweet on India’s great performance even on the last day. He lauded India’s collective effort and Rahane’s determination. Though India’s injury woes continued, they stood up on the occasion to make a mark. Umesh Yadav also limped out of the team due to an injury. On the other hand, ace batsman Rohit Sharma is back to be a part of the Indian Test squad.
