Pakistan cricket is been fighting corruption and fixing from a long time now. They have come up with various methods and strategies to tackle the problem and have succeeded. One of the Pakistani players was recently approached for match-fixing and the actions he took shows Pakistan cricket has come a long way.

It was a high profile player and he was approached by some bookies and all he did was report it to PCB and the support staff. He set an example for many others and taught a lesson to players who have indulged in the same. It was a great thing to do for an international player as cricket has been circled by the betters from a long time now.

Mickey Arthur praises the player

Pakistan head coach, Mickey Arthur was all praise for the player who did the necessary. There have been players in the PSL who have been involved in match-fixing and he knows how important this player’s actions were. He said that the player has set a real example for the rest of the team. He also said that if any other player was approached they would do the same as well.

“I am very comfortable with our players, they are outstanding and they are intelligent young men and individuals and I have no doubt that if anyone is approached they will do the same way as the individual did,” said Mickey Arthur while talking to the media.

Arthur was happy with the player’s reaction to the approach and said that he did what was necessary. He said, “To be honest the player reacted unbelievably well. He did everything required of him and we had a chat straight afterward. It was handled brilliantly and I think that is a real example to our team and to the cricket world that a really important player was approached and acted to the letter of the law and did exceptionally well as a true ambassador of the game.”

Pakistan Cricket Board has reported the matter to ICC and is now awaiting further instructions.
