Former Aussie pacer Mitchell Johnson has taken a dig at Indian captain Virat Kohli and said that irrespective of everything a captain should be courteous in all situations. Though Johnson didn’t name him but it was pretty clear he was indicating the tweet to the Indian captain.
Kohli lashed out at Steve Smith during the post-match press conference and said he won’t use the word but what he did after his dismissal today falls under “that bracket.” Smith looked at the dressing room when he was given out by onfield umpire Nigel Long asking them if he should go for a review.
Kohli said that it was not the first time he saw it during the match as it had happened at least on two more occasions during the course of the match. He said that he had informed the umpires about this so they knew what Smith was up to and stopped him immediately. Unsurprisingly Johnson supported his fellow countrymen and criticised Kohli instead.
It is not the first case where an Australian has found it hard to accept that someone can match them not only as a player but also in the verbal volleys. Kohli has always been on the face of the Australians and very recently former Aussie wicket-keeper Ian Healy also criticised him for disrespecting the opponents.

The history of Australian cricket shows that despite being the most dominant side in the world over the years, they haven’t always played the game in the best of spirits so it is very surprising to see the former Aussies targeting Kohli rather than criticising their fellow countrymen.
Taking to his twitter handle Johnson wrote Great Test match cricket, “#INDvsAUS Win, lose or draw being gracious is what a captain should be. Bring on the next Test,”. The tweet didn’t go down well with most of the Indian fans and they lashed out at Johnson. One guy questioned if he would have been saying the same thing if Virat Kohli had looked towards the dressing room.
Johnson again took safeguard and wrote that Smith did a wrong thing by looking at the dressing room when someone enquired about the same. It was definitely against the spirit of the game and to be quite frank Kohli didn’t say anything wrong. He is always on the face and tells directly what he feels and that makes Kohli what he is today.
